About this place
Located in Oizumicho, Nerima Ward, Renge is an unpretentious neighborhood izakaya well-suited to dropping by as evening settles in. The menu features an approachable array of drinking fare, from crisp fried dishes and grilled skewers to seafood staples.
Among the fried selections, savory seasoned zangi chicken and sweet-and-sour fried chicken show off flavorful coatings. The yakitori lineup covers familiar cuts such as negima chicken with leek, chicken thigh, and skin, alongside textural skewers like gizzard, tail (bonjiri), and pork belly, allowing diners to sample different bites over the course of the meal.
Smaller plates fit easily beside a drink, from grilled eggplant and tomato to garlic-sautéed gizzards and natto omelets. The drink list offers draft beer and highballs, crisp sours flavored with fresh lemon or sudachi citrus, and the shop's namesake shochu, Renge. Heartier finishes include grilled rice balls glazed with ginger miso, dipping-style tsukejiru udon, and green-tea cha soba, accommodating everything from a quiet solo drink to a complete dinner.
